830 North Milwaukee, Shot in the Dark

830 North Milwaukee

830 N Milwaukee in its early stages, but late at night.

Anyone who’s been up and down Milwaukee Avenue lately knows there’s a lot — actually, lots of lots — going on, from West Town to Logan Square and beyond.

One such happening is the Transportation Oriented Development at 830 North Milwaukee Avenue, affectionately known as 830 N Milwaukee. Developed by Akara Partners, and designed by friends-of-the-blog bKL Architecture, this five-story building will house 47 apartments and 24 parking spaces to go along with the retail space at ground level. There will be an amenity floor and shared terrace situated such that residents will be able to enjoy a view of the Chicago skyline. Summit Design & Build are the general contractors.

At 54,000 total square feet, it’s smaller than most developments we follow at Chicago Architecture, but it’s going to be a sharp looking building when completed, and it’s a cool project to walk past at night. Which is why we stopped and snapped a few photos of progress whilst in the neighborhood.
