Last month we were the first to show you the renderings and give you the details about the new downtown Chicago chapel being built for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. Well, it’s been a busy month at 816 North Clark Street, as you can see from these photos that Near North Spy Tim put in our collection plate.. er.. tip line.
They show the progression over the last few weeks from empty lot with a lonely cone to an active construction site with a tower crane, sheet piling, and all the other goodies that symbolize progress.
When completed this fall, the chapel designed by David Dixon of Dixon+Associates will have three levels of office and meeting space above four levels of parking. It will server several local Mormon congregations on Sundays, plus provide meeting and activity space during the week.
