Mamma Miura! Lamborghini Announces Limited Aventador Miura Homage

Even the most die-hard anti-Lambo folks admit that, well, yeah, actually the Miura was a pretty cool car. And for C/D staffers of a certain age, the Miura, Countach, Espada, and the later LM002 form a quadfecta (quadfecta?) of Italianate splendor unequalled by contemporary Modenese vehicles. Coming after a couple of ’60s-standard front-engined GT cars most notable for being less aesthetically lovely than the competition from Ferrari, the Miura, with its transverse mid-mounted V12, was the equivalent of a slap upside the head from Sophia Loren. Fundamentally, it set the template for what the company is today. So now, on the 50th anniversary of its appearance, Sant’Agata has pilfered some classic color schemes and applied them to the Aventador in tribute.

Lamborghini Aventador Miura Homage

Called, sensibly, the “Aventador Miura Homage”, and set to debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the all-wheel-drive, 700-horsepower monster honors the Marcello Gandini-designed original mostly by wearing a two-tone paint job, offered with a choice of six main colors, including Rosso Arancio Miura, Verde Scandal, and Blu Tahiti metallic. The 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels are available in either matte silver or gold. Naturally, Miura lovers want the gold. Inside, color options are limited to either Nero Ade or Terra Emilia leather, carbon-fiber accents are standard, and the seats feature a “Miura 50th” logo in either gold or silver thread.

We’re not entirely sure how we feel about this run of 50 cars put together by Lambo’s Ad Personam division; it’s as if Dodge offered an Avenger Coronet Homage or Toyota an Avalon Cressida Homage. Like, it’s a little off, no? We can only hope that future Ad Personam products include the 2026 Huracan Silhouette Homage and the 2036 Urus LM002 Homage. We should be hoping for that, right? Shouldn’t we?
