Caisson Equipment Reports For Duty at One Bennett Park

One Bennett Park

As earth continues to be moved at One Bennett Park, the lone rig from Case Foundation sets up in the in the southeast corner of the lot.

As earth-moving machines continue to scrape, dig, and smooth things out at 451 East Grand Avenue in Streeterville, the next step in the process of building One Bennett Park has made an appearance on the construction site.

Our Streeterville Spy Thomas dropped us a line that the first piece of Case Foundation equipment had arrived on site. That means caisson work is in the cards for the Robert A.M. Stern-designed masterpiece in the north-side neighborhood. Sure enough, when we passed through, the unmistakable combination of blue and gold was busy burrowing into the ground off in the southeast corner of the lot, at Illinois Street and Peshtigo Court.

On the off chance you haven’t already heard, Related Midwest is building both luxury rentals and luxury condos at One Bennett Park, as well as completely remaking the park on the same site, which will henceforth be known as Bennett Park. For now, everything is fenced off, but the park is expected to be open in 2018, while the tower itself is scheduled for occupancy in 2019.
