And the clear winner, by unanimous decision, is 167 West Erie, also known as The Construction Site on The East Side of Wells Street, or The Site Formerly Known as Gino’s East, if you prefer.
Earlier this month, we showed you the two tower-crane stumps on opposing sides of the street in River North. The crew from Linn-Mathes Construction set their crane stump in the ground back at 167 West Erie Street at the beginning of February, only to have their cross-street rivals from Lend Lease set their own crane base in the ground at 640 North Wells Street the first week of March.
But while the 640 crane remains in starter-set mode, the West Erie crane has elevated its game. Er, so to speak.
