Two Cranes Go Boom Boom in the Gold Coast

The Sinclair two cranes

Tower crane and baby tower crane, out in the city together.

Ten days ago, we confided in you our delight about seeing a pair of tower crane stubs planted in the ground of Fifield Companies‘ development in the Gold Coast, The Sinclair. We were assured by a McHugh Construction foreman to watch for both cranes to be fully assembled before last week was over.

And sure enough,  Gold Coast Spy Joel sent the photo above into the Chicago Architecture tip line, proving the aforementioned foreman true to his word. This gives us all the unreasonable expectation that the SCB-designed apartment tower and Jewel store will start climbing skyward at double the speed of ordinary one-crane ponies, right?

Right?

This article is the result of a photo sent in by someone just like you. If you see something interesting in your neighborhood, e-mail your phone pics to chicagoarchitectureinfo@gmail.com.  Check out our Tip Line for ways to tip us off by text message and anonymous drop box.
