The Glessner House needs you
Do you like historic Prairie Avenue architecture? Do you have free time on your hands? Then you’ll be interested in knowing that two of the city’s more historic homes currently have openings for docents.
Both the Glessner House (1800 South Prairie Avenue) and the Clarke House (1855 South Indiana Avenue) are in need of people to conduct tours, talk to people, and do all of those other things that docents do. No, you won’t be able to stand up at every… single… city planning meeting and start your testimony with, “As a Chicago River architectural guide…” but you’ll be a part of the same fraternity of people who educate tourists and locals about the city’s built environment.
