Here Are Your New BBC Top Gear Hosts—All Six (!) of Them

New BBC Top Gear hostsThe wait and the guessing games are over. Today, Top Gear confirmed the full team for when the show returns in May. Joining Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc—yes, that Matt LeBlanc—are Sabine Schmitz, Chris Harris, F1 commentator Eddie Jordan, and automotive journalist Rory Reid. And of course, the Stig.

Despite speculation that Schmitz wouldn’t be a presenter, fueled by an interview she gave during the 24 Hours of Daytona, the German professional driver tells Top Gear that she “grew up next to the Nürburgring and [has] been racing for most of [her] life, so the chance to combine both driving and filming was too good an opportunity to pass up.” Her experience as a driver, especially on the Green Hell, should give the Stig a run for his money. YouTube car king Chris Harris says that he is “quite . . . happy to get into trouble.”

And remember how Top Gear held public auditions over the summer? All you had to do was send in a 30-second audition video and prove that you were Top Gear-ish. That’s exactly how Rory Reid, the editor-in-chief of Recombu, a tech and car site, got the job. According to Top Gear, he knew he faced some very tough competition. “To be the only person to make it through the open-audition process makes me immensely proud,” he says. “I’ve been a Top Gear fan for decades, but more than that, I live and breathe cars in a way that is perfectly compatible with the show.” Here he is driving a Bentley Continental GT Speed:
