Every Mazda CX-5 Crossover Recalled for Potential Fuel Leaks

The CX-5 is the sports car of crossovers, with an athleticism you have to experience to believe, making it a great choice for parents who haven't given up on driving something fun. A 155-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder is available only with a six-speed manual and front-wheel drive. For more zoom, choose the 184-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder, which opens up the option of all-wheel drive; either teams with a standard six-speed automatic.

Mazda is recalling 264,463 CX-5 crossovers in the U.S. for fuel leaks, the company said in a statement.

The 2014–2016 CX-5 has a fuel-filler pipe that can crack during rear-end crashes, and because no one likes spilled gasoline, Mazda is going to repair all of them. It didn’t specify an exact repair and filings were not available from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. There have been no reported injuries or accidents, Mazda said. Until parts arrive, all new and used cars in dealer inventory will be blocked from customer delivery. Owners may request a loaner or rental car while Mazda finalizes the repair schedule.

In October, Mazda recalled more than 14,000 cars for fuel leaks and more than 1.3 million cars for potential ignition fires.
