When the 2017 GMC Acadia goes on sale this spring, the base SL trim will be wearing a slightly smaller MSRP to match its slightly smaller dimensions. Measuring in a full 7.2 inches shorter in overall length and 3.5 inches narrower, the slenderized 2017 GMC Acadia tips the scales a reported 700 pounds lighter than the outgoing Acadia, but still provides the option of three-row seating.

Thanks in part to the reduced mass, GMC was able to ditch the aging 3.5-liter V-6 that powered the previous Acadia in favor of a 194-hp 2.5-liter four as the base engine, although a new 3.6-liter V-6 producing an estimated 310 horsepower also will be available. Both utilize a six-speed automatic transmission, and the 2017 Acadia has a max towing rating of 4000 pounds. As before, both front and all-wheel drive versions are available.

Priced at $29,995, the 2017 Acadia SL base model cuts $1905 off the $31,900 ask of the 2016 Acadia SL. Although full specifications and details haven’t yet been revealed, we do know that the 2017 Acadia SL will feature a new version of GM’s IntelliLink system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Next up is the front–wheel-drive SLE, which retails for $33,375. All-wheel drive adds $2000 to the bottom line, for a total price of $35,375.
–
SLT models start at $39,275, with all-wheel-drive models coming in at $42,375, a $3100 premium.
–
New to the lineup is the Acadia All Terrain, which is AWD only and has an MSRP of $40,040. Distinguished from the rest of the Acadia lineup with a body-color grille surround, black chrome trim, and unique wheels and interior accents, the All Terrain also features covered storage bins in the rear cargo floor in place of a third-row seat.
