Nissan Builds Tracked Rogue, Instantly Makes Its Mainstream Crossover Cool

Nissan is starting to make a habit of swapping its crossovers’ wheels with snow tracks. Following last year’s tracked Juke Nismo RS, the company has unveiled a new tracked Rogue. The only difference? Whereas the Juke was built in Europe, and demonstrated in Finland, the newly tank-like Rogue was assembled by Motorsports in Action in Quebec. Nissan’s really making tracks with this concept.

If there’s a point to Nissan’s conversion, we don’t know it. And neither do we really care—tracked vehicles are cool, and this Rogue is cool. The tracks come from American Track Truck, and necessitated modifications to the Rogue’s suspension and body to make room. The Rogue is otherwise stock, including its four-cylinder engine, Xtronic CVT, and all-wheel drive. The tracks limit top speed to 62 mph, but they gift the Rogue with the ability to scamper up a 45-degree grade and sail over obstacles as high as 23 inches.
