As 1345 South Wabash Fills Up, 1333 Builds Up

If you build it, they will come. So as long as you’re at it, you might as well build two of them.

Which is precisely what’s happening in the South Loop. At 1333 South Wabash Avenue, One Triple Three is the second, larger tower from Chicago’s CMK Companies on the same block of South Wabash. Destined to rise 28 stories high, the Brininstool + Lynch design will bring 307 rental units, to include one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, to the South Loop.

One Triple Three is being erected right next door to 1345 South Wabash, another collaboration between CMK, and Brininstool + Lynch. Unlike its taller neighbor, 1345 is a condominium building, which residents began moving into back in June 2015. We spoke to CMK’s Scott Hoskins, who tells us the sales campaign at 1345 Wabash is in the final close-out phase, with over 85% of the units now sold. The remaining condos, both one- and two-bedroom abodes, are completely finished and ready for occupancy.

The beauty of side-by-side construction sites is general contractor Lend Lease didn’t need two tower cranes. They just swung theirs around to face north once they’d topped out the south tower. That’s efficiency. Expect renters to start moving in before the year is out.
